5.3. TSGLI Hospitalization Benefit
The TSGLI Hospitalization Benefit is a $25,000 payment made to a servicemember or veteran who is hospitalized as an inpatient for 15 consecutive days (or more) as the result of a traumatic injury incurred while on active duty or reserves and covered by SGLI. Attaching a Hospital Discharge Summary will increase the likelihood that your application receives a quicker, more favorable decision. If that is not possible, VA or your military branch may be able to assist you in locating your medical records.
