7.3. Air Compassion America
Air Compassion for Veterans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, national organization now based in Springfield, Virginia. Our mission is to provide free air and ground transportation for our nation's ill, injured and wounded veterans and their family members for medical care or rehabilitation that aids in the healing process.
We owe an immense debt to these men and women in uniform, one that can never be repaid. They’re the heroes who “stand in the trenches” to protect our nation and the liberties we enjoy as citizens. They have earned the right to the best treatment and care that America has to offer, and Air Compassion for Veterans stands ready to make sure they receive it.
Unfortunately, the military can’t always provide transportation resources to our wounded veterans seeking medical care. ACV steps in to ensure that they and their families have access to life-changing therapies.
With PTSD and TBI being a major factor in the tragedy of 22 veteran suicides being committed daily, ACV helps by providing free air and ground transportation for wounded veterans to access a variety of therapies:
- Medical treatment
- PTSD/TBI treatment
- Service dog acquisition
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
- Adaptive sports events
We provide airline tickets to long-distance treatment destinations. Flights in small planes owned and operated by volunteer pilots are also available. For shorter distances, ground transportation via gas cards and commercial bus and rail tickets may be the appropriate means of transit.
The qualification process for requesting help is simple. Use the online form to apply. Once we receive your information, we’ll be in touch.
We will provide services as long as there is a need and funds permit. Please consider giving generously.
