Augusta is a two-division medical center providing tertiary care in medicine, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and spinal cord injury. The Downtown Division is authorized 155 beds (58 medicine, 37 surgery, and 60 spinal cord injury). The 65,000-square-foot spinal cord injury center provides acute rehabilitation, primary care and sustaining care for veterans with spinal cord injuries and disorders. The facility includes a 30-bed inpatient unit, outpatient clinics, therapies and offices. A dedicated special-procedure room provides urodynamics as well as other specialized testing.

The Jefferson Barracks Division is a multi-building complex overlooking the Mississippi River in south St. Louis County. The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center is located on 125 acres on the western edge of Milwaukee and part of VA Integrated Services Network 12 (VISN 12), which includes facilities in Iron Mountain, MI; Tomah and Madison, WI, and North Chicago, Hines, and Chicago. The nursing home care unit of 113 beds offers geriatric programming and the 356 domiciliary beds are the locus of programs in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation, Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder care.
